US State I Want to Visit

I would like to visit would be Colorado's Conundrum Hot Springs. I have always wanted to visit a place where there are hot springs, since I have never been in one before. It is ranked as the best hot springs location in the USA. That is pretty awesome. If they are really number one, then it must be an amazing experience, which is what I am looking for.

Conundrum Hot Springs is located on the Aspen Colorado Hot Springs Trail, in essentially undeveloped land. What a beautiful place to stay and relax at. There are hiking trails and two beautiful hot springs that have been left undisturbed by humans. It may take a lot of saving up to do so, since air fair is so expensive right now, but in the end I bet it would be so worth it!

The hot springs are up higher in the Aspen wilderness, making it a bit cooler there. But the two hot springs are 95 and 80 degrees, making the climate just right to relax in. I would love to visit the Conundrum Hot Springs one day!

Biography: John Krakauer

John Krakauer was born in 1954 in Corvallis, Oregon. He loved/loves to mountain climb too. In fact, at the age of eight, John went on his first mountain climbing trek with his father. In 1976, he graduated from Hampshire College. Then, in 1977, he attempted to climb the Devil's Thumb in a manner in which nobody had ever gone before. After numerous set backs, he gave up after three weeks. He has written four books, all nonfiction, about either his adventures, or one of a man who gave up everything and went to live in the wild of Alaska. His most recent has been Under the Banner of Heaven, which was about two rather brutal murders and the steadfast radical faith of the murderers. Seems like John Krakauer has done a lot in his lifetime so far.

Intro to Into the Wild

Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, is a true story about a young man named Christopher McCandless taking the trip of his life. Christopher decided to give away all of his possessions and go into the wild. After a while, McCandless died of starvation. There were theories as to how he died, like eating a poisonous fungi root from a potato, as well as from a mold that messes up one's digestive system. However, Christopher survived about 112 days out in the wild of Alaska. That is pretty amazing for someone who only had a .22 caliber rifle, several rifle rounds, some reading material, and a camera when he was found.

Into the Wild was turned into a major motion picture in 2007. The movie was directed by Sean Penn. Many people have commented saying that it was very good, but in some ways different from the book. Hope you enjoy!
